Purple Up! for Military Tigers

Holy Spirit Regional Catholic School in Huntsville welcomed back new and returning military families at their inaugural Back-to-School Military Family Reception. This reception provided active-duty, National Guard, and Reserve families an evening of fellowship and fun.

As the only Alabama private school with a Purple Star designation, Holy Spirit School strives to offer its military families many opportunities for community. The Purple Star School program recognizes the challenges faced by military families who frequently relocate in service of our country. The goal of a Purple Star School is to help students and their families as they transition into new communities. Holy Spirit’s Purple Star designation demonstrates the school’s on-going commitment to its military students.

Many of the military families of Holy Spirit School attended the picnic. Sonya Mulack, Huntsville’s community coordinator for the Military Child Education Coalition, was also in attendance. Mulack discussed resources available to support Holy Spirit’s military families.

Jana Oldham Clark, regent of the Maple Hill Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, and Stephany Wilson Wingard, Project Patriot Chair, presented Holy Spirit with a $317 check to support future Purple Star School activities.

Holy Spirit School is grateful for the commitment and sacrifice of its military families and thanks all who work to support their military students.
