On Holy Saturday, parishioners of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Huntsville gathered to honor a beloved Polish tradition: Święconka. The custom of bringing baskets containing a sampling of Easter foods to church to be blessed on Holy Saturday dates back to the early history of Poland. Baskets are lined with white linen or lace and sprigs of boxwood or willow, and the food is enjoyed on Easter morning.
