On Feb. 22, Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Pell City held its annual Shower of Blessings. During the “shower,” parishioners brought donations and baby bottles filled with money, which were donated to Ann’s New Life Pregnancy Medical Center, located near the parish. Also, during the event, Knights of Columbus Grand Knight James Raynor presented representatives of Ann’s New Life with a check taken from proceeds of the council’s previous year’s BBQ sales and fish frys. Susan Meredith, the director of Ann's New Life Center, expressed sincere thanks for the generosity of the parishioners and for the parish’s pastor, Father Bill Lucas. In her remarks, Meredith mentioned last year’s Baby Bottle Drive raised nearly $10,000 for the center.
