Ladies Altar Sodality hosts membership garden party
Faith, fun, and a floral theme were combined by the Our Lady of Sorrows Ladies Altar Sodality during this year’s new members event. A garden party welcomed potential and current members on Aug. 28, featuring food, desserts, drinks, and more in the Family Life Center.
The enjoyment of socializing did not overshadow the evening’s goal: promoting faith and service. The occasion showcased the Altar Sodality and its six guilds: Madonna and Child, Immaculate Heart of Mary, Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Peace, Our Lady of Grace, and St. Ann’s Guild. Someone from each guild explained its focus. Sodality members perform many services for the parish and the community, including cleaning and caring for the sacristy, collecting food and items for the needy, making rosaries and baptismal stoles, cooking meals, and praying. Guests were happy to have Father Bob Sullivan, pastor, attend, bless the food, and join them during the meal.
