Ladies Altar Sodality gathers

Faith and fun came together on Aug. 26 as members of the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church's Altar Sodality hosted a gathering to welcome potential and current members. Following prayers by Pastoral Associate Sister Madeline Contorno, O.S.B., and Parochial Vicar Father Manoj, the ladies enjoyed food, drinks, desserts, and more. Socializing during the event, however, did not minimize its purpose of promoting faith and service. The occasion showcased the Altar Sodality and its six guilds: Madonna and Child, Immaculate Heart of Mary, Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Peace, Our Lady of Grace, and St. Ann’s Guild. The Corporal Works of Mercy are the basis of the sodality with guild members performing many services for the parish and the community including making rosaries and baptismal stoles, collecting food and items for the needy, cooking meals, preparing hospitality baskets, and praying.
