Members of the Knights of Peter Claver Council #272 presented the interim principal of Holy Family Catholic Academy, Phyllis Rowser, with a scholarship to the academy. The Knights of Peter Claver is a Catholic lay organization that was formed in 1909 in Mobile. The organization is named after St. Peter Claver, a Spanish Jesuit priest who dedicated his life to aid enslaved Africans. He provided medicines and food and taught religion.
