The John Carroll Catholic High School service organization Carroll Students Modeling Christ (CSMC) sponsors the Queen of Hearts Charity Dance each year as a way to encourage students to participate in their school community by assisting others in financial need. This year’s Queen of Hearts Charity Dance Fundraiser was the 60th in school history and the class participants raised an amazing $49,097.58 - over $16,000 more than the 2021 campaign! Top fundraisers included: freshman Evie Cleckler, freshman Alex Perrin, sophomore Maggie Von Hagel, sophomore David Cayced,; junior Addison Oliver, and junior Anthony Cucinotta. The King of Hearts and top overall fundraiser was James Gregory, and the Queen of Hearts was Lilly Langley. The seniors held the top four fundraising spots and alone raised over $24,000.

In the past, using the money raised at Queen of Hearts, CSMC has assisted charities such as: JCCHS Student Financial Aid Program, JCCHS Cavs for a Cure, Catholic Relief Services, Camp Bluebird, Food for Our Journey, Catholic Center for Concern, First Light Homeless Women and Children’s Shelter, The Lovelady Women’s Shelter, Her Choice Birmingham Women’s Center, and the National Veterans Foundation.

The members of CSMC would like to thank the fundraisers in each class for their hard work and service to the mission of the organization. Additionally, John Carroll would like to thank all the individuals, organizations, businesses, and groups that contributed to one of the most successful Queen of Hearts Charity Fundraisers in recent history. CSMC will work hard to ensure that all the monies raised benefit a wide variety of needs throughout our local community and beyond.
