The John Carroll Catholic High School cheerleaders recently had an amazing weekend at UCA Cheer Camp on the campus of Mississippi State University. The group was recognized for leadership, spirit, and performance. The girls received first place for “large varsity overall spirit routine,” “large varsity overall camp routine,” and “large varsity cheer division.” John Carroll also received the leadership award. Individually, Sophie Kate Turner, Mary Caroline Acevedo-Adams, Julie Cate Gray, Virginia Mann, Callie Hart and Kaylynn Nutter all made All-American, while Sophie Kate Turner and Julie Cate Gray were “Two Pin it Forward” recipients. At the end of the four-day camp, the Cavaliers were awarded the coveted “Banana” for the team’s hard work, positive attitude, service to others, and spirit.
