Engaged couples, including several attending the Catholic Engaged Encounter weekend retreat hosted by Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Homewood, stood to receive a special blessing at the parish from Father Kevin Bazzel, parish administrator, at the close of the 5 p.m. Vigil Mass on May 16. Members of the congregation responded with heartfelt applause as Father Bazzel asked them to keep the couples in their prayers.
