Diocese’s Permanent Diaconate Program Planning for a New Formation Class

The Diocese of Birmingham’s Office of the Permanent Diaconate is continuing to plan for a new formation class. Diaconate Formation has four phases: inquiry, aspirancy, candidacy, and post-ordination. The diocese is currently working with men in the inquiry phase.

The director of the office, Deacon Christopher J. Rosko, said to men of the diocese: “This vocation is a special invitation to the Sacrament of Holy Orders and a life of prayer and service to the Church and its people. The first step on this journey is to participate in the Inquirer sessions and to discern if God is calling you to this life. By completing the Inquirer information form, you are signaling your willingness to receive information on the upcoming steps in the formation process and your willingness to participate in these sessions.”
