Diocese honors Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy
On the morning of Jan. 14, members of the faithful from parishes across the diocese gathered at the Cathedral of St. Paul to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The occasion was the annual MLK Prayer Breakfast. Bishop Steven Raica as well as Bishop Emeritus Robert Baker were in attendance. Father Reginald D. Norman was the guest speaker.
During the breakfast, the Diocesan Office of Black Ministry awarded Claude C. Davis of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Huntsville and Rose Tolliver-Munford of All Saints Catholic Church in Anniston with the 2023 Sister Rita Washington Stewardship Award. They were chosen based on their commitment and stewardship with the diocese, the Office of Black Catholic Ministry, their church, and their community.
