St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Bessemer paid tribute to students and teachers at the annual Celebration of Education held recently during Sunday Mass. The parish, led by Father Paul Asih, M.S.P, hailed the accomplishments of its youth and expressed appreciation for educators in the congregation, including three who retired this year. The students were invited to provide a write-up to showcase their accomplishments during the 2025-2026 school year. Four graduates were recognized with medallions: one college graduate and four high school graduates. The graduates included Henry Ani (University of Alabama), Ugo Orji (Jefferson County International Baccalaureate School), Onyi Ani (Pleasant Grove High School), and Cole Perryman (John Carroll Catholic).
