Ana Sewell Receives 2022 Faith in Action Award

Prince of Peace Catholic Church lifelong parishioner Tatyana “Ana” Sewell received the 2022 Caitlin Sweeney-McDaniel Faith in Action award on May 15. Sewell is a 2022 AP Capstone Diploma graduate of Hoover High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society and received a 4.0 grade point award. She logged over 80 hours of community service while taking International Baccalaureate classes, piano, and dance lessons. Sewell has assisted with her church’s vacation Bible school and Sunday school and was a member of the high school youth group. This outstanding young lady received her sacraments of baptism, first Eucharist, and confirmation from Father John Fallon, pastor of Prince of Peace. Sewell will continue her education at American University in Washington, D.C., studying international business. Sewell is the daughter of Linda and Steve Sewell of Hoover. The Faith in Action award honors a graduating high school senior within the parish who exemplifies their Catholic faith in action, serves their community, and is a well-rounded student. The award was established 18 years ago in memory of Prince of Peace Catholic School student Caitlin Sweeney by her parents, Joe and Cindy Sweeney.
