John Carroll alum Richard Cashio ('75) recently hosted members of the 1973 state championship football team for a reunion. Members present included Joe Sudano, Joe Milan ('74), George Sawaya ('74), Richard Cashio ('75), John Bahakel ('74), Sherwin Sledge ('74), Pat LaRock ('74), Bobby Lorino ('74), Jimmy Sissa ('75), Lou Green ('74), John Milan ('75), Johnny Walker ('74), and Rob Crawford ('76). The '73 Cavs, coached by James McNally, went undefeated (13-0) and beat Andelusia High School by a score of 40-7 in the state championship game. The team’s championship season saw the defense boast seven shutouts and the offense average 24 points per game.
