Wednesday, November 1

All Saints' Day

Bishop Raica will celebrate All Saints Mass at the Cathedral of St. Paul at 12:10 p.m. The cathedral is located at 2120 3rd Avenue, North in Birmingham. The Solemnity of All Saints, celebrated in honor of all the saints known and unknown, is a holy day of obligation.


Thursday, November 2

All Souls' Day

Bishop Raica will celebrate Mass at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, marking All Souls’ Day. Mass will begin at 9 a.m. and take place near Father James E. Coyle’s grave, which is located in Block 29. All are welcome to attend. The cemetery is located at 600 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. 


Thursday, November 2

All Souls' Day Requiem Mass

Bishop Raica will celebrate a Solemn Requiem Mass, or Mass for the dead, with Gabriel Fauré’s “Requiem,” at the Cathedral of St. Paul at 6 p.m. The cathedral is located at 2120 3rd Avenue, North in Birmingham.


Saturday, November 4

Rosary to end gun violence

St. Joseph Catholic Church in Huntsville will host a Rosary with the intention for an end to gun violence at 11 a.m. The church is located at 2300 Beasley Avenue, Northwest. For more information, please call 205-222-2010.


Sunday, November 5

Blood Drive

Knights of Columbus Council 7584 and LifeSouth Community Blood Center will conduct a blood drive in the Parish Hall at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hoover. Donors must be 17 or older (16 with parental consent) and show a photo I.D. The drive will begin at 7:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m. Refreshments and gifts will be provided. The church is located at 2061 Patton Chapel Road.


Thursday-Sunday, November 9-12

Seminary Live-in Weekend

The diocesan Office of Vocations will host a Seminary Live-in Weekend for men ages 21-35. Father Wyman Vintson, Vicar for Vocations, will lead this visit to Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, where men will have an opportunity to experience the daily life of a seminarian. Friday, November 10

An evening with Dan Schutte

St. Joseph Catholic Church in Huntsville will host an evening with Dan Schutte, famous Catholic music composer. A $20 donation will be appreciated, with all proceeds going to the Holy Family School Capital Campaign. The church is located at 2300 Beasley Avenue, Northwest. Praise and Worship Adoration Night

Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Huntsville will host a Praise and Worship Adoration Night for the youth of the diocese, starting at 6 p.m. The church is located at 13550 Chaney Thompson Road, Southeast. Sunday, November 19

Our Lady of Divine Providence

St. Theresa of the Little Child Jesus Catholic Church in Leeds will celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Divine Providence from 1:30-5 p.m. A procession around the church will begin the celebration and Mass will follow.
