The John Carroll Catholic High School boys and girls varsity tennis teams advanced to AHSAA State Competition, which will be held in Mobile. The girls team finished 2nd in sectionals and the boys team won sectionals. At sectionals for the boys team, Will Magruder placed first in #1 singles and #1 doubles; Josh Wittmann placed first in #2 singles and #1 doubles; Fletcher Hughey placed first in #3 singles and #2 doubles; Doug Frederick placed second in #3 doubles; Andrew Turkiewicz placed first in #5 singles; and Tim Meehan placed second in #3 doubles. For the girls team, Samantha Magruder placed second #1 singles and #1 doubles; Abi Schumann placed second in #2 doubles; Reese Unnoppet placed second in #1 doubles; Jenna Jordan placed second in #4 singles; Annie Morgan placed second in #5 singles and #2 doubles; Ava Arteaga placed first in #6 singles; Alex Deichmann placed second in #3 doubles; and Sophia Samaniego placed second in #3 doubles.
