‘Safety on Purpose’

Prince of Peace Catholic School recognized for safety

Prince of Peace Catholic School (POP) has been formally designated as a Heart Safe School, a recognition that reflects both a commitment to excellence and safety by ensuring all POP School staff are trained in CPR and AED use.

The designation, awarded by Alabama LifeStart, a school safety program at Children’s of Alabama and an affiliate of the National Project Adam Program, signifies that the school has met the rigorous standards in preparedness, training, and emergency response for cardiac events. At its heart, the recognition means that every child, teacher, and visitor who walks through the school’s doors will be cared for not only academically and spiritually, but also physically.

Prince of Peace Catholic School, now celebrating 26 years of Catholic education, lives by its mission: “We light the candles, they light the world.” By becoming a Heart Safe School, the school adds another so-called light—one that shines as a beacon of safety, care, and love for every member of the community.
