Local school to hold 1980s-inspired auction and gala

The Prince of Peace Catholic School PTO will host its annual auction and gala, Neon Knights, on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 6–10 p.m. at the school. With an energetic, 1980s-inspired “neon” theme, the evening will feature vibrant décor, throwback music, and a totally “tubular” atmosphere.

Principal Connie Angstadt shared, “Each day the faculty and staff of Prince of Peace Catholic choose to lead, learn, serve, and pray with purpose. I am excited to have the opportunity to celebrate Prince of Peace Catholic with purpose! Please join us.”

Neon Knights brings together parents, parishioners, alumni, and friends of Prince of Peace for a night of fellowship and stewardship. Guests can expect a spirited program that includes both a silent auction and a live auction featuring a variety of packages, experiences, and one-of-a-kind items. Throughout the evening, attendees will also find interactive, theme-inspired game stations and activities, including crowd favorites like Plinko. The evening will provide plenty of opportunities to connect and celebrate together.

Proceeds from the auction and gala help strengthen the day-to-day life of the school by supporting needs that fall outside standard operating budgets such as campus and classroom enhancements, student-facing programming, and other priority initiatives identified by school leadership and the Prince of Peace PTO. Every ticket purchased and every bid placed helps advance the mission of Catholic education at Prince of Peace.

Tickets for the event cost $75 per person and include dinner. Guests are encouraged to lean into the theme: neon, leg warmers, sweatbands, shoulder pads, and big hair are welcome. For those wishing to dress up, “80s prom” attire is also a fun fit—think bold colors, ruffles, taffeta, and statement accessories. The school is located at 4650 Preserve Parkway in Hoover.
