Jim Miller Named CEO at Saint Bernard Preparatory School

On behalf of the Board of Directors at St. Bernard Preparatory School, Father Joel Martin, O.S.B., President-Headmaster, announced the appointment of Jim Miller as Chief Executive Officer of St. Bernard Preparatory School effective March 21.

Miller, who graduated from St. Bernard College, was instrumental in the re-opening of St. Bernard Prep in the early 1980s, serving as the school’s headmaster. Miller’s wife and school board member Kathy Peinhardt Miller, joins the staff as the Education and School Liaison to the Board. She will assist Father Joel on a part-time basis, with particular attention to faculty/staff support and other aspects of school administration as requested.

Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for the overall management of St. Bernard Prep and other education, social, and recreational activities of the school. The new appointments reflect the Board’s decision to support the school by being actively involved in the administrative arm of St. Bernard Preparatory School.

“St. Bernard recently received high praises for the school’s operation by the Southern Association of Independent Schools (S.A.I.S.),” Father Joel said, “and this new action by the Board will be a huge boost to St. Bernard life. The Millers have impressive careers in education and bring not only a wealth of experience but much love for St. Bernard.”

The Miller’s returned to Cullman in 2019 after Jim Miller retired from Shelby County Schools and Kathy Miller retired from the DAY Program-Shelby County. They have three grown children, Leah Miller, Ben (Amanda) Miller, and Emily (Guy) Myers. They also have two grandchildren, Marlow Miller and Lucas Myers.
