Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Huntsville officially began the parish's kitchen renovation project on Sept. 3 as Father Rick Chenault, pastor, assisted by Deacon Bob Becher, blessed the construction site. The church is renovating and expanding its 30+-year-old kitchen to replace outdated equipment and better serve the growing and active parish. In 2025, the kitchen served more than 350 community events, including weddings, funerals, potlucks, an Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration, new member receptions, pancake breakfasts, Wednesday Lenten soup suppers, Friday Lenten fish fries and more. Parishioners are supporting the construction with financial gifts and prayer as well as engagement with planning and ongoing project supervision. Paula Steigerwald is leading the fundraising, and parishioners Laura Trenkle and Kirk Foeller are leading the construction team.
