American Heritage Girls (AHG) is a Christ-centered organization focused on building character and developing young leaders. AHG gives girls (ages 5-18) the opportunity to grow in their faith, serve their communities, learn new skills, experience adventure, and build friendships. AHG is more than just a scouting group; it is a community where girls can discover what they are capable of while being encouraged by the people around them.

Faith is the foundation of AHG. Girls are given the opportunity to submit prayer requests, attend Mass as a troop, explore faith awards, and learn more about the lives of the saints. Growing in faith, alongside friends, creates an uplifting community where girls can encourage and support one another.

Service is an important aspect of being an American Heritage Girl. Delivering potted flowers to assisted living residents and placing wreaths on veterans’ graves are among the many meaningful service projects AHG has to offer. Opportunities like these show girls how to make a difference while learning the importance of giving back to their community.

One of the best parts of AHG is that there is always something new to learn. AHG helps girls build character through real experiences. Earning a difficult badge, learning a new skill, leading an event, or working through a challenging task teaches discipline, responsibility, and perseverance. While everything might not be right on the first try, AHG encourages girls to keep going and overcome obstacles until they succeed.

The journey, though, is not a solitary one! AHG leaders are outstanding mentors who encourage girls to grow in their faith and become the best versions of themselves. No matter what the goal to accomplish might be, girls are surrounded by people who want them to thrive.

Most importantly, AHG is a place where girls can be themselves, step out of their comfort zone, and try things they never thought they would. Whether it be learning a new skill, finding a new passion, or meeting lifelong friends, AHG helps girls discover a stronger version of themselves.
