Charlotte Sederstrand to speak at the next Magnificat Breakfast
The Service Team of Mary, Woman of Faith Chapter of Magnificat invites the women of the diocese to the Magnificat Breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish Hall, which is located at 1728 Oxmoor Road in Homewood.
The speaker, Charlotte Sederstrand, is a worship leader and songwriter, who currently serves at the director of youth formation at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Birmingham. She served two years as a traveling missionary with NET (National Evangelization Teams), leading retreats for Catholic youth all around the country. Sederstrand’s heart is to love Jesus and make Him known.
Sederstrand was raised by a strong Catholic family to love God, adventure, and music. She is the oldest of five children. She was homeschooled and has lived in many different cities. Her faith became challenged during a season of loss and change as a middle schooler. The suffering led her to question God’s love. Through prayer and reading Scripture, she discovered God’s personal love for her and the meaning of redemptive suffering. Sederstrand says God taught her through song writing, what true worship is – a sacrifice of praise! Her faith is truly the center of her life, and she has even released several Christian music singles.
In 2022, Sederstrand moved to Birmingham, and as youth minister, she works directly with the parish young people by leading Bible studies, planning events, teaching catechism, coordinating confirmation preparation, and leading music for weekly Mass and praise and worship nights.
