Camp ‘Fall in Love’

On Oct. 4-6, the Hispanic Young Adult Ministry (Pastoral Juvenil) under the diocesan Office of Hispanic Ministry, held their Annual Youth Camp. Young adults from various parishes across the diocese gathered for the much-anticipated annual camp titled Enamórate or Fall in Love. The event provided a profound space for encounter, reflection, and spiritual growth, offering participants the opportunity to strengthen their relationship with God and with one another.

Throughout the camp, the young adults engaged in a variety of activities that fostered friendship and community. From moments of worship and Mass to opportunities for confession, each experience invited participants to deepen their love for Jesus and to learn how to keep that flame alive, even in times of spiritual dryness.

A special highlight of the weekend was a presentation by María Paula Aldana, a renowned speaker among Hispanic young adults. She shared insights on the Theology of the Body teachings, offering a fresh perspective on love and human dignity that deeply resonated with the attendees. In addition, the Catholic musician Nicolás Cabrera uplifted the camp with his music and inspiring messages, creating an environment filled with reflection and prayer.

One of the most profound moments of the camp was the real presence of the Holy Spirit. Many participants experienced moments of grace, opening their hearts to a deeper connection with God. Worship and communal prayer throughout the weekend, as well as opportunities to engage in outdoor and recreative activities, strengthened bonds among the young adults, fostering a sense of belonging and unity.

As the camp concluded, several participants shared powerful testimonies about their experiences. Some spoke of how the weekend helped them rediscover their faith and reignite their love for Jesus, while others emphasized the importance of staying connected and supporting one another in their spiritual journeys.

The Fall in Love camp was not just a weekend retreat or camp, but it was a call to continued growth in love and faith. The young adults returned home with a renewed commitment to remain in God’s love, remembering that, despite life’s challenges, His light always shines within us.
