• Father Robert J. Sullivan, V.G., is appointed Pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Homewood, effective July 5, 2023, while remaining a Vicar General and Director of the Education Foundation for John Carroll Catholic High School.
• Father Jonathan Howell, is appointed Pastor of St. Joseph’s Parish, Florence, effective July 5, 2023.
• Father Justin Ward, V.S.L., is appointed Pastor of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish, Birmingham, effective July 5, 2023, while remaining Vicar for Sacred Liturgy and Episcopal Master of Ceremonies.
• Father Wm. Wyman Vintson, is changed from Administrator to Pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Gardendale and St. Henry Parish, Warrior, effective July 5, 2023, while remaining diocesan Director of Vocations.
• Father Anthony Vadakara, C.M.I., is appointed Administrator of St. Cecilia Parish, Jasper, effective July 5, 2023.

PAROCHIAL VICARS/ASSOCIATE PASTORS/OTHER

• Father Pachomius Alvarado, O.S.B., a newly-ordained monk of St. Bernard Abbey, Cullman, is appointed Parochial Vicar of St. Francis Xavier Parish, Birmingham, effective July 5, 2023, with gratitude to Abbot Marcus Voss, OSB, for releasing him for service in a diocesan parish.
• Father J. Daniel Sessions, to be ordained on June 24, 2023, is appointed Parochial Vicar of Holy Spirit Parish, Huntsville, effective July 5, 2023. He was previously appointed as an Auditor of the Diocesan Tribunal and a Notary of the Diocesan Chancery, effective April 25, 2023.
• Father Jose Raphy Ambooken, temporarily assigned as Parochial Vicar of Holy Spirit Parish, Huntsville, is extended in that role, effective immediately.

COMPLETION OF SERVICE IN THE DIOCESE OF BIRMINGHAM IN ALABAMA

• Father Wayne Herpin, S.J., is thanked for his pastoral ministry in various roles in the Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama over several years, as he completes his service as Pastor of St. Cecilia Parish, Jasper, effective July 5, 2023.
